Synopsis
Mufasa’s life is examined by Simba as he raises his own son
As Simba attempts to impart the lessons of his father on his own son, he begins to look further into his father Mufasa’s history and how that shaped him into the leader and parent he knew and loved.

Berry Jenkins directs Disney’s The Lion King live-action prequel film
Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming live-action adventure film produced by Disney Studios. The film is a prequel to the live-action The Lion King from 2019, and focuses on the life of Simba’s father, Mufasa. The film is directed by Moonlight’s Berry Jenkins, while Jeff Nathanson pens the screenplay.
While previous Lion King films have featured the bass tones of James Earl Jones as Mufasa, the younger iteration of the character who appears in Mufasa: The Lion King is voiced by Aaron Pierre. Meanwhile, Mufasa’s brother, Scar, is voiced by Kelvin Harrison Jr. John Kani returns to his The Lion King role as Rafiki, as do Seth Rogan as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.
